Where this site came from

MakerLove.com first went live in 2012, in the earliest wave of consumer 3D printing, with a simple premise: if people can fabricate objects privately at home, some of the first things they'll want to make are the things they're too embarrassed to buy. It published free printable sex toy designs and got written up in the design and tech press for it. It was a genuinely early idea — years before printable toys became a niche of their own.

Where it's going

In 2026 the domain changed hands. The new MakerLove — independent of, and not affiliated with, the original operators — is being rebuilt with the same spirit and a bigger ambition:

• A free catalog. Every design currently in the catalog is a free download — an original work, created from scratch by our team, published as an STL you can print, scale, and modify.
• A marketplace for independent designers. The full MakerLove platform — in development now — will let adult-toy designers sell their work directly, with fair revenue sharing, real content moderation, and payment processing built for the adult category.
• Body safety as a feature. Printable toys have real material-safety questions that most STL sites ignore. We publish finishing and safety guidance with every design and will hold marketplace products to a body-safety standard.
